Clinical quality assurance (QA) is paramount to the success and safety of any health care organization. Join our organization in helping us ensure medical emergencies in Johnson County have the best possible outcome!
Essential Duties:
Develops and oversees systems for the collection of appropriate data; reports on outcomes of clinical data; designs, monitors and reports on the clinical performance measures for the department; manages the processes of routine call review QA by field staff to include establishing and monitoring QA standards, documentation standards, frequency of call reviews, and completion of QA; performs QA directly on select call reports; serves as a resource and coordinator of patient safety and clinical investigations; assists with the investigation and resolution of patient complaints; serves as a liaison to the Medical Director's Office QA program.
Monitors and objectively evaluates clinical performance of the department; makes sound clinical judgments and provides recommendations for improvements in clinical performance based on department trends; evaluates EMS industries best practices for system improvement; collaborates with the Medical Director and Training Division Chief in implementing changes in practice and required training elements.
Serves as the leader and administrator of the department's electronic medical records system; works with IT staff to effectively manage all aspects of the operation of the application to meet departmental needs and expectations; ensures department compliance with medical billing coding standards and CMS compliance issues for EMS.
Leads the department's internal clinical quality groups to ensure program continuity; collaborates with the Medical Director's office and other EMS System Quality Assurance programs to ensure consistency across the system.
Provides operational, management and administrative support when directed by the Chief or the Chief's designee.
This position is OSHA category 1.

Job Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in the following field(s) of study: Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Health Care, Business or relevant field of study. Experience may be substituted for degree and degree maysubstitute for experience.
Certification in the following:Certified as a Registered Nurse or Kansas Paramedic, or able to obtain within one year.
Four years working within a medical and/or other quality assurance program
Will maintain certification as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic as a requirement of continued employment.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and successful completion of the post-offer drug testing are required.
PreferredJob Requirements:
Five years experience in advanced life support EMS, emergency or critical care area.
Working knowledge of public sector administration.
NFPA 472 HazMat Awareness Level, OSHA Training, NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800
Leadership and supervisory skills.
