The Role
This is a Quality Assurance Test Analyst position that will be responsible for the quality, risk mitigation and successful testing of all web, mobile and desktop applications included in the Health and Benefits business portfolio. Responsibilities include:
Personally conducting comprehensive manual and automated functional and UAT testing on all applications, data, files, reports, models, databases, etc. in order to ensure consistent and optimal quality before and after applications are released
Personally conducting effective load/performance testing using Visual Studio and/or other tools. Provide clear documentation on the steps of the testing and results gathered
Performing infrastructure testing, including support of hardware and software upgrades, security patches, and assess their impact on the broad application portfolio
Creating test documentation for assigned projects including test planning documentation, test cases/scripts/scenarios and test summary reports where applicable. Ensure effective execution of the test plans in order to meet the quality objectives and the stakeholders expectations
Analyzing, verifying and validating the accuracy of all deliverables, testing procedures and processes, ensuring a consistent and optimal level of quality
Participates in reviews of requirements, application functional and user specifications and software lifecycle documentation as it pertains to testing
Understands and applies current software test methodologies
Developing effective professional relationships with project managers, development staff, and team leads and corporate technology teams (as needed)
Records, reports and tracks issues/defects to accurately depict the status of the application under test, including providing test status reports and acting as the point of contact for issue tracking and updates
Supports continuous development of test process improvements and advanced testing procedures
The Requirements
5 years’ experience working on a QA/Test
team with at least 2 years’ experience with automated testing tools (Selenium,
QTP, etc)
Experience in both manual and automated testing
with heavy concentration on application testing support
Strong knowledge of the
software development lifecycle, roles, and work in an agile environment is
considered a plus
Knowledge and understanding to support all QA
functional areas including Functional, Regression, Integration, Security and
GUI Testing and familiarity with Unit & User Acceptance Testing to occasionally
assist in those areas
Proven abilities to work under pressure with
strict deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication
skills
Strong experience with performance and load
testing tools, especially with Visual Studio.
Experience in performance testing for a wide range of application
environments and protocols is a plus
Experience in creating, writing and executing
test plans, test cases and test scripts
Strong attention to detail
Strong troubleshooting skills with the
ability to systematically analyze new and existing software functionality
General database knowledge, including the use
of SQL queries. Advanced SQL query experience
is a plus
Working knowledge of software issue/defect
lifecycle and ability to document, communicate and work with development team
through reproducing, retesting and closure
Strong organizational and
time management skills to be able to handle multiple concurrent projects and
tasks effectively
Candidate must be self-motivated and
self-starter, possessing a strong sense of ownership of all responsibilities
including follow-up and follow-through on all projects
Ability to perform well and be productive
both individually as well as in a team setting
