If you’re a Senior Wells Engineer (Data Quality Management) with experience in driving quality performance improvement, then this role is a chance to develop your management and technical skills whilst ensuring a performance culture that achieves Operational Excellence.
What’s the role?
The Senior Wells Engineer (Data Quality Management) reports directly to the Wells Performance and Planning Engineer. You will be part of the core Performance and Planning team covering pan-Australia scope.
You will be an integral part of a team that is targeted as the “powerhouse” of the broader organization for performance, data visualization, data analytics and cost administration for Shell Wells Australia.
Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Drive the quality aspects of the day to day reporting through EDM process creation, optimisation and clarification in close collaboration with both site and office-based staff.
Introduce Wells productivity and collaborative web-based tools supporting the visualization of current data sources, enhancing digitalisation in performance management.
Enhance the data quality of both current and migrated legacy systems facilitating the analysis of selected Wells Operations metrics, benchmarking and the performance of look backs to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Identify and implement changes that result in system improvements in both Shell and supplier processes. Establish Quality Improvement Process fundamentals and initiate the process with key suppliers.
Support the strategy to move to industry standards and to reduce/eliminate 3rd party inspections and maximise quality through individual vendor’s QA plans.
Support the development of Shell Wells Australia quality plans (Technical Risk Identification & Mitigation) in collaboration with the Regional and Global Quality Centre of Expertise.
Facilitate & support Value Creation workshops to enhance the quality and efficiency of Well Delivery Projects.
Coordinate Technical Review Panels for significant NPT events.

Requirements:
What we need from you:
Degree in engineering or other technical related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in well engineering design and operational supervision, preferably in both Deepwater and Coal Seam Gas operations.
In-depth working knowledge of data management systems such as EDM, Open Wells, and Sharepoint.
Experience with operational start-up of new-build and cold-stacked rigs.
Good understanding of Continuous Improvement methodology, such as LEAN, VSM, and Agile.
Strong understanding of Wells technical impact and risks associated with Well Delivery and detailed knowledge of the work processes within the Wells Department.
