Job Description:

Where you fit in
The Chemicals Technology group within Shell Projects & Technology supports Shell’s chemicals business, which includes Base Chemicals, Polyethylene, Ethylene Oxide/Ethylene Glycol, Styrene monomer/Propylene Oxide/Derivatives, DPC/Polycarbonate, Higher Olefins/Derivatives and Solvents. The PU Application team (PODER MTS) is part of this organization and located in NL, Bangalore, Singapore and China. A person with strong technical knowledge and customer engagement skills is required in NL to support the business for different grades of Polyol in Europe, Africa and ME region as well as provide quality assurance to our manufacturing sites.
What’s the role?
The role covers a broad range of activities including:
PU Application Technologist (50% of time)
Provide remote or on-site technical support to external flexible foam/CASE customers using Shell Polyols
Design or execute (with Foaming lab at Pernis) Foaming / pre-polymer experiments with Polyols to support our business, external customers
Pro-active engagement with customers along with the Sales team
Provide training to commercial team, customers, and distributor
Work with PODER MTS teams / labs in other regions for sharing of technical information, samples (polyol and other chemicals)
Establish relations with additive manufacturers to understand the trends and for evaluation of their products in foaming formulations
Regional QA Manager – PO DERIVATIVE (50% of time)
Provide QA support for PO (Propylene Oxide) from Moerdijk & Polyol products from Pernis
Support Sales/Supply team in EU region to resolve any QA issues (at customer or internal) related to PO / Polyols
Lead / coordinate investigations for any PQ incident in the region
Set up QA system for new products or supply chains
Work with AP regional QA manager and PO DERIVATIVE QA global manager for ensuring Polyols/PO Quality Assurance system
What we need from you
Key Skills and Requirements:
Must have (min) Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or any related fields
Significant knowledge of Polyol chemistry, PU applications and foaming experiments
Understanding of Polyol specification and knowledge of manufacturing and supply/ logistics
Knowledge of SAP tools (GSAP) is a plus
Stakeholder management skill
Customer engagement and commercial mindset
Teamwork and collaboration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
