The typical duties for most entry-level quality positions include studying the manufacturing process, looking out for erroneous production techniques, minutely observing the products for visible defects, performing various tests on the units produced for testing various desirable characteristics, noting down observations taken, accepting and rejecting lots on the basis of samples checked, participating in quality control programs, and performing other tasks assigned by the quality control officer.An entry-level quality professional should have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree. Excellent academic credentials are essential. Prior exposure to a manufacturing environment through project work or internship may be helpful.
