What you will do
The Quality Technician is responsible, under the guidance of the Quality/CI Manager and Quality Engineer for advancing Quality within the Baltimore Parts Center (BPC), specifically in terms of processes and tools.
How you will do it
Audit and inspect for purchased components/products and for outgoing shipments as required.
Compile data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products
Support managing Returned material (RMA) system - Receive and disposition returned material from customer
Maintain freight claim process for damaged material during shipment with carrier and recover the cost of damaged material from carrier.
Maintain
the non-conforming material process and tool for internal and supplier discrepancies, resolutions, and chargeback from suppliers
Support Quality manager and Quality Engineer collecting data for key performance metrics and dashboard relative to the performance of the quality system
Implement Engineering changes making sure parts in stock meet current engineering requirements
Document data and information as required
Maintain documentation and records
Support additional QA technician duties as required
What we look for
Required Qualification:
Technical Diploma / Associate Degree or equivalent 4 years suggested minimum experience in Quality
Knowledge of lean, process improvement and quality management tools
Analytical ability to solve problems and ability to learn quickly
Strong written & verbal communication skills to generate process instructions and reports
Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions specified
Ability to use measurement equipment as required
Ability to follow a structured project management process including document meeting minutes, action items, and monitor progress
Ability to train other personnel to QA procedures
Proficient Microsoft Office Applications
Previous SAP experience is preferred
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
