We are currently searching for a Quality Specialist to join our Equipment Manufacturing Quality Department. As the Quality Specialist, Inspector and Nonconforming Material (NCM), you will oversee/coordinate material flow through the quality process both physically and systematically in Oracle. Manage and report quality data with respect to nonconforming material for all **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. - Baltimore. The chosen candidate will understand product issues from inspection results, coordinate required material movement of NCM, and facilitate actions from the Material Review Board (MRB). Responsibilities:
This position will review material/parts, analyze suspect conditions, and perform disposition and associated functions via Oracle. This individual will perform a blend of hands-on activity combined with computer-based transactions to properly process and close NCM records.
Duties also include:
Work with all **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.-BA locations to control and process NCM, establish best practices as well as occasional provide back-up activity
Interpret and apply company standards, with Inspectors and Quality Engineers, to adequately assess the condition of suspect parts
Work closely with Supplier Quality, Materials, and internal stakeholders to process NCM records
Performs required Quality measurements, inspections & audits.
Leads the Documentation of Non-Conformances and ensures containment of product.
Supports Quality investigations. Provides accurate, timely data collection.
Proficiency in interpreting quality control drawings, quality specifications.
Assists the Quality Team with investigations and data collection.
Elevates QC drawing/matrix errors and omissions to Quality Technicians for investigation.
Supports audits and Continuous Improvement efforts.
Complete detailed reports and performance records for nonconforming material, scrap, returns, and rework processes
Work cross functionally with internal and external teams/contacts to solve problems and determine root cause to resolution
Work and collaborate with diverse groups of internal, cross-functional teams to solve problems
Is Self-Managed and able to be productive with minimal guidance
Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
Teach the production team about quality concerns and issues to improve product excellence
Resolve quality-related issues with a sense of urgency and in a timely manner
Encourage an environment of teamwork and convey the concepts of the Laitram Business Philosophy with the department
Relies on and creates instructions and establishes guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Good attitude in stressful situations
Qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification with 2-4 years of experience OR Undergraduate degree in a technical or quantitative field
Experience in a manufacturing facility with understanding of parts/product flow in the value stream.

Skilled in MS Office, Oracle, and EPDM with ability to learn new software
Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work as a part of a team with internal & external stakeholders
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and under the pressure of deadlines
Possess a strong attention to detail
Willing and able to perform a variety of tasks in support of short- and long-term goals of the Manufacturing division
Overtime may be required, Steel toe shoes are required
